Remove the retainer pin on the
Hinge Plate and open the top plate 90o. Mount the
bottom plate onto the anchor bolts and secure with hardware (flatwasher,
lockwasher and nut) on each anchor bolt.
-
Align the holes in the Hinge
Plate top plate with the holes in the mounting flange of the
antenna base section. Secure the antenna base section to
the top plate with the supplied hardware, fed through from the
bottom side of the plate. Secure the gin pole attachment
in position as shown in the Gin Pole Arrangement illustration.
-
Tie two lengths of 3/4 inch
polypropylene rope to the eye of the Gin Pole nearest the
antenna. Tie another length of the same type rope to the
other Gin Pole eye. Slide the Gin Pole into the gin pole
attachment at the antenna base and secure with a bolt and nut.
-
Screw the second antenna section
onto the base section. Tighten using a strap wrench and
install locking screws. Assemble the remaining antenna
sections and the Valcosphere in the same manner. Use the
supplied locking sealant to seal the locking screw
holes.
-
Tie the two ropes from the Gin
Pole eye to the antenna at the approximate locations shown on
the Gin Pole Arrangement illustration. A timber hitch
knot is recommended to prevent slippage.
-
Erect the antenna by applying a
gradual and constant pulling force on the remaining rope
attached to the Gin Pole using a winch or vehicle.
-
Once the antenna is in the
vertical position, insert the retainer pin back into the Hinge
Plate. Secure the retainer with a cotter pin.
